Project Wall West: Vadis Turner at Zuckerman Museum of Art

A commissioned installation built from satin ribbon, gold leaf, and resin.

Crosscurrent Grid, 2025. 80 x 295 inches. Satin ribbon, gold leaf, and acrylic resin.

Project Wall West: Vadis Turner at the Zuckerman Museum of Art features a newly commissioned installation by Nashville-based artist Vadis Turner, whose work explores materiality, transformation, and the expressive potential of everyday and unconventional materials.

The large-scale work Crosscurrent Grid reflects Turner’s practice of combining textiles and sculptural processes, incorporating elements such as satin ribbon, gold leaf, and resin to create compositions that are both intricate and expansive. Her work often engages themes of accumulation, labor, and the recontextualization of domestic materials.

Through this installation, Turner extends her investigation of form and material, creating a visually dynamic environment that invites viewers to consider the relationship between structure, surface, and process.
